The Worldwide Consortium of Korean Studies Centers workshops are designed to provide a forum for graduate students in Korean studies to share their research in a supportive and encouraging environment and to promote scholarly interest in Korea around the globe.
Re-visioning Korean History from a Long-term and Large-scale Perspective
Participating graduate students will give presentations on topics of their choice and will be assigned to one of several main workshop panels, or to the special session panel, depending on the nature of their proposals. Panels will be organized by theme or methodology and will be chaired by established academics drawn from the East Asian region and from Consortium member universities. The panels, including one special session, will be followed by workshops during which the academics will discuss the papers presented, commenting on disciplinary and methodological issues and recommending ways in which the papers can be improved for publication. An opening of the floor to general discussion will follow.
