The United Nations recently declared 2010 as the International Year for the Rapprochement of Cultures. With UNESCO as the leading agency for this initiative, its mission is to: promote reciprocal knowledge of cultural, ethnic, linguistic and religious diversity; build a framework for commonly shared values; strengthen quality education and build intercultural competencies; and foster dialogue for sustainable development.

To be considered for the competition, each entry should contain a poster design that visually illustrates the notion of "Rapprochement of Cultures" and an accompanying description.
