Real Leather. Stay Different., in partnership with Arts Thread, is on a mission to find the best in fresh, free-thinking fashion talent from around the globe. Working with leather as the primary material, the competition is open to those who value slow style and love natural materials that last a lifetime. The mission, to slow the fast fashion cycle and use of synthetics that are so damaging to the planet.
Designs will be judged by a senior industry panel that last year saw the MD of Hugo Boss and Head of Sustainability for Mulberry joined by the Institute of Digital Fashion and celebrity stylist Mike Adler. This year Gal Benjamin the 2022 winner, who saw off competition from nearly 2000 entrants representing more than 130 colleges in 40 countries, will be part of the team.
Alongside the international competition, Real Leather. Stay Different. Runs regional competitions in Mainland China, the UK, Taiwan Region, The Nordics and, new for 2023, The Philippines. Regional entries will be automatically entered into the International Competition.
