The COINS Grand Challenge 2021
Organized by COINS
Make a difference, win prizes and improve construction with the COINS Grand
Challenge, an open call for fresh thought and inspired innovation. Could your idea
improve construction or the built environment? Whether it’s grounded in technology,
engineering, sustainability or something else we want to hear from you.
The COINS Grand Challenge is a global competition to uncover students, innovators,
entrepreneurs and leaders with ideas that can improve the built environment. The
competition is open to anyone whose idea could reduce costs, increase efficiency,
improve sustainability, safety, quality or compliance throughout the built life cycle.
Prizes include £2.5k for the Undergraduate competition winner and £1k for the runner
up. The Open Competition features larger prizes plus a chance to win the £100k
COINS Investment Prize.
The competition is organised by leading construction software company, Construction
Industry Solutions Ltd (COINS), with the goal of boosting construction innovation.
The Undergraduate Competition is for anyone studying for a university undergraduate degree.
The Open Competition is open to students, professionals, postgraduates – anyone with a
viable idea. Team applications are welcome for both the Open and Undergraduate
Competitions. Applicants may be of any nationality and citizenship but must be fluent in
