Student Competitions - Why learning should never end

Why learning should never end

Life is a never ending learning process. Learning in life should not be limited to within the realms of your school boundaries. It should extend beyond as it is a beautiful enriching experience which widens the horizons of your mind and enhances your thinking capabilities.

One must always keep the path open for new experiences. Always be willing to learn new things, discover the unfamiliar and venture into terrains that previously looked difficult or challenging. Set new goals and objectives. The enlightenment experience is essential for gaining new experiences in life. These experiences lead you to be a better person and educates you to deal with the challenges life throws at you and survive unscathed.

There are always new things to learn and discover; study new languages, find about cultures, norms, values of other societies, and search geographical locations and history. Find why squirrels bury nuts and octopuses have three hearts. Keep learning new things every day, it will keep you fresh and energized and keep the brain cells active. The world is a big whirlpool of knowledge. There will always be stuff you didn’t know and facts you were not aware of.

Reading has always been a fundamental part of the learning process. Reading increases your knowledge and makes you wiser. A good book can teach you what many other mediums may not.

"Books make great gifts because they have whole worlds inside of them." — Neil Gaiman.

Books entail a large amount of information, the reason they have always been treasured by the wise as being knowledge banks. There is no better pastime than reading a good book, nor a greater friend.

Vacations are a very good time to spend in learning new stuff (click here to earn a travel grant!). Has something intrigued you but you never had the time to explore it? Plan a research during the vacations. List the important points. Make a journal. Also, exchange with your friends what you learned over the summer and schedule an intellectual conversation over topics of interest. Share what you discovered. Learn new skills. A friend knows a special skill? Show some eagerness and request that friend to teach you too. Someone knows how to fix everyday household items, ask him/ her to show you how to do it. Learn glass painting, origami, cooking, website designing. Anything! Don’t just limit yourself.

We are lucky to have the web at our disposal. Tutorials ranging from cooking classes to how to learn Turkish can be found online. Make good use of it and increase your productivity by learning new skills and trying your aptitude at a talent you might not know existed in you. Trying new things is also a very good therapy to relieve stress from everyday chores. Make it part of your routine to try new things and tag your friends along too.

The positive aspect is there is no age bar to the learning process. Engage yourself to learn that which you do not know. Being a student is one of the best feelings. Be a student again!
