About the competition
The Entrepreneurs Club Venture Challenge is a free startup competition for high school students. Teams of 2 to 4 build a real business idea, get feedback through four rounds of review between November and March, and the finalists pitch on stage for $10,000 in prizes at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium on Friday, March 19, 2027.
Eligibility: any high school student in the United States. Teammates can come from different schools. The whole team must attend the in-person final in Sacramento, California. No business class, club or prior experience needed, and there is no cost to enter.
Timeline: applications are open now and close January 29, 2027. An optional hackathon runs January 16 to 18. Judges select the top teams for the final, and the audience picks two wild cards.
