About the competition
Registration for the 2026 International Chemistry Quiz (ICQ) is now open. The ICQ is a globally recognised competition that challenges students’ chemistry knowledge and critical thinking skills in a fun, engaging, and confidence-building way. In 2025 alone, participation grew to 38 countries, with 11 new countries joining the program — making it one of the most exciting years yet. The competition is run across multiple rounds, with the two biggest rounds being rounds 1 & 2. These rounds are divided by region. Round 1: Students in US (& US Territories), Canada, UK, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Central America, South America* & Mexico; Key Dates for Round 1: • Quiz window: 23 March – 10 April 2026 • Registrations close: 9 March 2026 • Early Bird pricing ends: 12 February 2026; Who Can Participate? The ICQ is designed for students in Years 7–12, with tailored papers to match each year level, ensuring an appropriate and engaging challenge for all students. Students must participate within their school under the supervision of a teacher.

Other award
All students receive a certificate with their achievement level, and those who achieve perfect scores receive a medal.
