1. Everyone is nervous about all that’s new
Starting college is scary for most students. There are lots of new things which are different from what you are used to. Many have to move away from family and friends to a new city. There are new classes and classmates, and you will have to create new routines and follow new rules. And there will be an entirely new set of expectations.
Don’t forget that everyone is going through the same thing as you, this can make the experience a little less scary. Dare to take initiative to be friends with everyone. This will make your college experience considerably better.
2. Buy your supplies after your needs
Buying all of your supplies before all your classes start can seem smart, but you will most likely end up buying a lot of unnecessary items. Waiting till you are sure what you need will save you both time and money.
3. Want to get an internship or extra job?
Here, you need to make sure you are ahead of time. Available slots fill up fast, so make sure to have your applications ready early in the school year. Submit your application to several different employers to increase your chances of getting a good job or internship.
4. Be open-minded!
Most colleges and universities offer a large number of activities and clubs that students can take part in. Dare to take a step out of your comfort zone and try something new! This will give you the chance to meet new people and have a lot of fun.
5. Ask for help!
There is a lot of help you can get if you ask. Tutors, professors and other students are often happy to help you. Regardless of whether you need help to finish an essay, job application or find your way on campus, most people will be happy to help you!
