About the competition
Eligibility
Open to students and young professionals.
Registration closes 3 July 2026.
Participants will receive their topic, assigned position (For/Against), opponent details, and instructions from 6 July 2026.
To remain eligible for advancement, participants must successfully complete two assigned Wribates during July 2026.
Deliverables
Each Wribate consists of three mandatory written submissions:
Opening Argument – Present your case with logic and evidence.
Rebuttal – Respond directly to your opponent's arguments.
Closing Statement – Summarize and reinforce your position.
Participants must submit all three rounds for each assigned Wribate within the stipulated deadlines.
Timeline
Each Wribate runs over three days:
Day 1: Opening Argument
Day 2: Rebuttal
Day 3: Closing Statement
Participants may edit and save their submissions throughout each round. The latest saved version before the deadline is treated as the final submission.
Judging & Advancement
Submissions are evaluated by Wribate organizers and/or a designated review panel based on:
Strength of arguments
Evidence and research
Quality of rebuttals
Critical thinking and nuance
Persuasive writing and communication
Civility and intellectual integrity
Advancement is based solely on merit, irrespective of ideology or popularity. Public voting on the Wribate platform may be considered as one of several factors.
Participants who successfully complete two Wribates and meet the evaluation criteria will receive a Participation Certificate and become eligible for advanced rounds and future opportunities. All evaluation and advancement decisions are final and remain at the sole discretion of Wribate.com.
