Burnout has become one of the most pressing mental health issues, especially among the younger generation. Academic pressure, social demands, and the lack of restorative spaces have left many feeling emotionally and mentally drained. This competition responds to that reality, inviting students to propose ideas for public open spaces that are not only beautiful and functional but also capable of offering restoration, calmness, and opportunities for positive social interaction.Through inclusive, human-centered, and user-oriented design, you have the chance to create a space that truly matters in today’s world. Now is the time to design with empathy, purpose, and real impact. This competition brings forward the theme Sanctuary of Mind as a response to the growing issue of burnout, especially among younger generations. The theme invites participants to design public open spaces that offer a break from the noise of routines and the constant pressure of everyday life. In a fast-paced and demanding world, we need spaces where the mind can breathe, spaces that foster calmness, self-reflection, and meaningful social interactions.Through inclusive, human-centered, and comfort-oriented design approaches, participants are encouraged to create spaces that are not only functional and aesthetic but also attentive to the diverse needs of users and responsive to the challenges of our time.
